The National Association of Ogun State Students, NAOSS, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, MAPOLY, chapter has provided solutions to the recent transportation challenge that plagued students of the institution.

According to a press statement released on Saturday, by the association, the association’s president, Comr. Oladowo Usman met with the MAPOLY Shuttle chairman, Mr. Adesanya Adesina, on Friday to address the issue.

During the meeting, the Shuttle Chairman cited several reasons for the discontinuation of services, including a reduction in student admissions compared to previous years and the recent hike in fuel prices.

However, after thorough deliberations, it was agreed that 10 buses would be allocated daily to transport students residing in Panseke to and from the school premises.

The statement partly reads, “After many discussions, we concluded that 10 buses will permanently transport students residing in Panseke to and from the school premises daily. UBA Bank will serve as their junction during rush hours (7:45 to 9:30 am).

“The executives proceeded to have an unannounced emergency meeting on the same day with the Manager of the NNPC fuel station at Onikolobo (popularly known as FOWOBI) regarding how he could assist with fuel scarcity and fuel price inflation. We reached an agreement with the manager, and he promised to allow 10 MAPOLY shuttles into the station without waiting in line during their working hours every day, in addition to selling fuel to the shuttles from the reserve even during fuel scarcity.”

The association therefore urged students to make effective use of the information and bear with them until a final resolution is provided.

“On this note, we implore our students to make effective use of this information and bear with us pending the time a better and lasting solution will be provided.”
